Family-owned, directly-employed. We do industrial, commercial and agricultural roofing across Kent, Sussex and Essex — and nothing else.
New-Cladd Ltd was founded in the early 1980s by a small team of roofers who'd had enough of working for big national contractors that promised much and delivered little. The plan was simple: stick to the work we actually know — commercial, industrial and agricultural roofing — do it ourselves with directly-employed people, and let the quality of the finished roof do the marketing.
Forty years on, that's still the plan. We've grown steadily but deliberately. We've never moved into housing, never franchised, never sold to a national group. The directors are still on site, the same families have been on the payroll across generations, and the phone is still answered by someone who knows the difference between a Z-spacer and a Zed-purlin.
What's changed is the scale and the spec. We started out doing single-skin agricultural roofs on Kentish farms. Today we install Kingspan twin-skin built-up systems on regional distribution centres, strip aged asbestos cement roofs on light-industrial estates, and fit standing-seam zinc envelopes on diversified barn-conversion schemes. The thing that hasn't changed is the standard. Every roof leaves us weather-tight, properly fixed, properly flashed and properly documented.
Forty years builds up a list of things you'd rather lose a job than do wrong. These are ours.
The people on your roof are New-Cladd employees, on our payroll, in our PPE, named on our insurance. We don't pass work to sub-contractors we've never met. If something needs putting right, the same person who fitted it comes back to fix it.
If a patch is genuinely the right answer, we'll tell you. If the roof has another 10 years in it, we'll say so. We've lost work telling people they don't need to spend the money — and won the next three jobs from the same client when something else came up.
Every job we price is set out on paper: scope, specification, exclusions, programme, payment terms, insurance, warranty. No napkin numbers. No “trust me, we'll sort it.”
Site safety planning, MEWPs, exclusion zones, safety netting — all priced into the job from day one, never invoiced as a mid-programme variation. It's why our HSE record is clean and our insurance premium isn't loaded.
No half-finished roofs. No “we'll come back next month for the gutters.” The job's finished when the building is weather-tight, the warranty is issued, and you've signed off the photographic record.
A free site survey is the easiest way to see what 40 years of focus on commercial roofing actually looks like.

We don't have a single “ideal customer.” What our clients have in common is that they take their buildings seriously, expect the work to be done properly, and don't want to manage a contractor — they want one they can trust to manage the job.
